South West Donegal have booked their place in the quarter-finals of gaelic football's MacRory Cup thanks to a 1-15 to 1-9 victory over St Pat's Cavan in Thursday's play-off played at Kingspan Breffni.
South West are an amalgamation of five Donegal post primary schools: Colaiste na Carraige, St Catherine’s Vocational School Killybegs, St Columba’s Comprehensive Glenties, Pobalscoil Na Rossan and Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair.
This is the team's first year to contest Ulster Colleges gaelic football premier post-primary competition.
They qualified as runners-up from Section A in the group phase - and are now set for a last eight meeting against either Omagh CBS or St Paul's Bessbrook.
Donegal's other representatives in the MacRory Cup, Abbey VS, are in action against Cathaoir Dhoire on Friday in Convoy (1:30pm).
