St Attracta’s Connacht Senior A Championship final is set to take place on Saturday week, March 3.
The Tubbercurry school defeated St Gerald’s of Castlebar by 3-12 to 1-7 in yesterday’s semi-final, to book their place in a sixth successive Senior A final between the league and championship competitions.
They will face Westport’s Rice College in the decider after the Mayo students beat St Jarlath’s of Tuam by 2-16 to 1-13 in yesterday’s other semi-final.
The same two schools also clashed in this year’s Senior League final, with St Attracta’s winning by 2-8 to 1-7 on that occasion, but the Sligo side have lost the last two championship deciders.
Head coach Colm McGee says the league win won’t count for much on Saturday week…

Meanwhile, there was also success for St Catherine’s Vocational School’s U18.5 team yesterday.
They beat St Clare’s of Ballyjamesduff by 3-10 to 2-8 in the O’Doherty Cup quarter-final in Irvinestown.
They will now face Coláiste Ailigh from Letterkenny in the semi-finals.
