St Attracta's reach Connacht LGFA colleges final

St Attracta's Tubbercurry senior girls gaelic footballers enjoyed a 4-6 to 2-7 win over Glenamaddy Community School in the Connacht Colleges 'B' championship at the GAA Air Dome in Bekan on Thursday afternoon, to reach the provincial final.

A strong finish in the closing 10 minutes saw the south Sligo girls score two late goals to edge past their Galway opponents by five points.

The victory makes it back-to-back wins against Galway schools - as Attracta's beat Colaiste Iognáid (The Jes) in their opening championship game last month.

This, along with earlier victories over St Nathy's Ballaghadereen sees St Attracta's through to the Connacht final, where they will face the Mercy of Roscommon.

The sides already met in the group stage this term, with the Roscommon school winning that encounter.

Attracta's are managed this year by Tourlestrane's Katie Walsh and Curry's James McDonagh, who are both teachers in the school.
