Summerhill College, Sligo, regained the Dr Tony O'Neill FAI Connacht Senior 'A' Cup on Monday afternoon with a 3-1 win against a gallant St Gerarld's Castlebar.
Goals from Niall McDermott in the first half, and Seán McAteer and Conor McKeon in the second gave the College the title, with Castlebar's Ben Ida - recently signed by Sligo Rovers - finding the net for the Mayo school.
After the presentation, Summerhill College captain Daniel Grey-Harrigan and vice-captain Brian Lynch spoke with Ocean FM Sport's Austin O'Callaghan:
Summerhill have little time to rest on the laurels. They now face the Munster championships in a national cup semi-final this Thursday.
Four of the victorious soccer team - Canus Mulligan, James Herrity, Jack Doyle and Jack Davitt - are also part of the Summerhill senior gaelic football team who take on St Gerald's again next weekend in the Connacht Colleges senior 'A' football final.
