Summerhill fightback earns Connacht final place

Summerhill College gaelic footballers came from nine points down against Ballinrobe Community School in Tuesday's Connacht Colleges senior 'A' semi-final in Bekan to win by two, on a final scoreline of 1-12 to 2-7, and book a place in the provincial 'A' decider.

The St Mary's duo of Eli Rooney and Ronan Niland produced inspired second-half displays to help turn the contest Summerhill's way.

Playing into a stiff breeze, Summerhill appeared to be in all sorts of trouble by half-time.

However, as has been a feature of their earlier championship games, they produced their best football in the second 30 minutes.
