Summerhill College, Sligo, made a winning start to the pool stage of rugby's Connacht Senior 'A' Schools Cup on Thursday with a 27-19 win over Coláiste Iognaid (The 'Jes') of Galway at the Monsignor Michael Devine 4G pitch in Sligo.
Summerhill had to come from 19-10 down in this game to secure victory.
Team captain Tom Walsh spoke to Breffni Earley of finalwhistle.ie after Thursday's win.
The college are in a five-team Pool A, which also includes the holders Sligo Grammar School.
Their opening match, against St Enda's earlier this week, was postponed because of an unplayable pitch.
The two Sligo schools will play each other next Friday (Jan 19th) on the Mall at 12 noon.
Two teams from each of the two pools will qualify from the Schools Cup semi-finals.
