14-man Summerhill College booked their place in the semi-finals of this year's Connacht Colleges senior 'A' football championship thanks to a spirited six-point win over Ballinrobe CS (3-12 to 0-15) at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence on Tuesday.
The win means Summerhill finish top of Group 2 - and will now play St Jarlath's of Tuam in the last four next Wednesday, Jan 22nd.
The Leitrim combined schools team are already assured of a place in the other semi-final having topped Group 1. Their semi-final opponents will be St Colman's Claremorris.
There was disappointment for St Attracta's Community School, Tubbercurry in their Connacht senior 'B' championship quarter-final on Tuesday as they lost out to Roscommon CBS by 2-6 to 1-3.
Jesus & Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone also lost their 'D' championship quarter-final by 2-14 to 1-7 against St Patrick's College.
