Summerhill teacher helps Kilkerrin-Clonberne complete 4-in-a-row

A teacher from Summerhill College in Sligo was part of Kilkerrin-Clonberne senior gaelic football team which retained the All-Ireland LGFA senior club title on Saturday evening at Croke Park with a 0-13 to 0-9.

Chloe Miskell (pictured), who's teaching Irish in Summerhill this year, kicked four points for the defending Galway, Connacht and All-Ireland champions as they completed a four-in-a-row of national titles at Croker.

Kilkerrin-Clonberne led by 0-8 to 0-4 at half-time despite missing a penalty.

And their firepower up front, with Miskell a major influence, was key to the holders running out four point winners.

There was a Sligo connection to the winners of the All-Ireland intermediate final too.

Bennekerry/Tiinryland from Carlow beat Galway champions Annaghdown, conquerors of Sligo intermediate winners Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in the Connacht intermediate final, on a final scoreline of 2-10 to 1-7.

The team captain Shannen Cotter (pictured below) is a daugher of Sligo native Willie Cotter and Curry's Anna Frizzell, who now live in Carlow.
