Maxi Curran's side, who were missing a host of their household names for this game such as Footballer of the Year Niamh McLaughlin, Geraldine McLaughlin and Karen Guthrie, trailed by 0-5 to 0-3 at the interval.

Galway, who were missing their Kilkerrin-Clonberne All-Ireland club winning contigent were awarded a second-half penalty but the kick was driven over the bar.
