Weather halts Irish Seniors Close Championship at Strandhill

High winds and flash flooding forced play to be suspended for a time on day 3 of the Irish senior men's and women's close championships at Strandhill Golf Club.

Play was suspended at 1.27pm - and resumed at 4.30pm.

The weather interruption delayed the men's and women's quarter-finals in the early afternoon.

Two local golfers had reached Thursday's quarter-finals  with Co Sligo’s Seryth Heavey and  Enniscrone’s Derek Basquill both reaching the last eight.
