"We've won it...we've won it...we've won it!"

"We've won it...we've won it...we've won it!"

Those words came from Donegal's Fr Seán Ó'Gallchóir at the final whistle in Carrick-on-Shannon on October 17th, 1982 when Donegal beat Roscommon by 0-8 to 0-5 to lift the All-Ireland under-21 football title.

Ó'Gallchóir was on commentary duty that day - with the match filmed by Packie Keeney - and every minute of the game is available to watch on YouTube.

This Thursday night, Ocean FM Sport takes you back to '82' with a special programme on that breakthrough year for Donegal, which has been viewed by many as the spark for the subsequent senior success a decade later.

Team manager in 82, Tom Conaghan, and captain Brian Tuohy recount some of the stories behind that memorable championship run.

The programme will be broadcast on the eve of a special 40-year-reunion for the team this Friday night (Oct 7th) at the Abbey Hotel in Donegal Town.
