Sligo boxer Dean Clancy has made a winning start to his bid for a medal at the European Under-22 Boxing Championships in Italy.
The 19-year-old welterweight recorded a 5-0 judges victory in his first round bout against Petr Novak of the Czech Republic in Roseto on Thursday evening.

Clancy is part of a 10-strong Ireland team competing at these championships.
He returns to the ring on Friday for his last 16 bout.
