Yeats County senior hockey team from Sligo captured the Connacht Junior Cup title for 2023 on Saturday with a spirited 1-0 win over Greenfields of Galway in the final, played in Dangan.
Lara Swann scored what proved to be the matchwinner in the closing quarter of a keenly contested final - sparking great scenes of celebration.
Yeats had beaten another Galway side, Kinvarra, in the semi-final earlier this month to reach the final.
The provincial success is seen as a major boost for this developing team.
