Fine Gael Cllr Martin Harley has been elected Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council.
He was elected at a special meeting of Donegal County Council held yesterday evening.
Cllr Harley takes over from Fianna Fáil Cllr Liam Blaney in the role.
In his fourteen years as a local representative, it’s the first time the Lifford/Stranorlar based Councillor has held the Chair.
Meanwhile, Sinn Féin Cllr Gerry McMonagle has been elected Leas-Cathaoirleach for the year ahead.
