A Sligo taxi, bus and coach operator says it is going to take years for the sector to recover from the collapse in business due to the Covid pandemic.
It's as the Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland has outlined to government what it needs in the coming budget.
The council points out the private coach sector supports 11,000 jobs and contributes more than €600m to the economy.
It is calling for a resumption of the Business Continuity Scheme with increased funding ringfenced for coach tourism.
It also wants supports for carbon neutral alternatives, a reconfiguration of Ireland's transport strategy, increased funding for driver training and insurance reform.
