Donegal TD raises the Letterkenny University Hospital situation in the Dáil

A Donegal TD has claimed that hardly a week goes by where 'horror stories' don't emerge from the Emergency Department at Letterkenny University Hospital.

The conditions at the facility have been once again branded as 'unacceptable' on the floor of the Dail.

It comes as the General Manager of the hospital has this week unveiled new plans for the hospital in response to a damning report by HIQA.

Sinn Fein Donegal TD Padraig MacLochlainn says it's clear that there are not enough beds or staff and asked the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to get behind the plan.

While responding, the Taoiseach said he would consider the plan.
