Garda investigation underway following the discovery of a woman's body in Sligo

A Garda investigation is underway in Sligo following the discovery of a woman’s body in St John’s Terrace last night.

The woman believed to be in her 50’s lived alone.

It’s understood she had sustained head injuries.

Gardai say her death is being treated as unexplained.

The property has been cordoned off and the State Pathologist has been notified and post mortem is due to take place.
